Meet the Founder
JC Collins who heads UNIVERSAL DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION, is also currently a senior Business Consultant for several Major Artists & Entertainment Companies including Famous Music Group.
Following stints running an Agency and booking well known acts such as Joe Cocker, Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Lonnie Donegan and Dusty Springfield and managing soul singer Donnie Elbert and the Warren Davis Monday Band he began building a chain of retail record stores and a wholesale distribution company throughout the 1970’s & early 80’s, he also began producing recording artists and developed his first record labels: ECHO RECORDS & VISTA SOUNDS made up mostly of Reggae Albums with releases from GREGORY ISAACS, DENNIS BROWN, JOHNNY CLARKE and over 100 other Artists. This vocation brought him together with more internationally known artists & producers, not only in Europe & Jamaica but also in the USA, where, in 1983 he set up an office & recording studio in Englewood, New Jersey.
From this base he was able to successfully work with the likes of:- BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS / KRS-ONE, G-DEP, FATHER MC, GRAVEDIGGAZ, BRENDA K. STARR, COLONEL ABRAMS, READY FOR THE WORLD, CHILL ROB G., WU-TANG CLAN Members, SUNZ OF MAN, POSITIVE K., RAM SQUAD, ADINA HOWARD and a host of other artists that obtained “major label recording deals” with MCA, JIVE, KOCH, and others.
Although he could have retired at the young age of 50, when he moved with his family to Coral Springs, Florida, the call of the Music Industry was still far too loud to be ignored and JC decided in early 2004 to enjoy once more the challenge to succeed, doing what he knows & loves best. After first setting up a warehouse filled with vinyl records he also became a consultant for a Record Pressing & CD Plant, based in Plantation, Florida. He then started a New DIGITAL record label, Famous Records, Corp., which releases and promotes music for Artists worldwide… via UNIVERSAL DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION.
